Join Tunes for their Holiday Recital the Beaver Island Community Center on Thursday at 7 pm to hear music by Ruby John & the 2nd through 6th grade fiddle class, plus performances in mandolin, piano, violin, hand chimes and the rock band class. You are sure to leave with a smile on your face.

Northern Michigan (NoMi) String Collective Concerts
Tonight at the BIC Center, the NoMi String Collective, four renowned instrumentalists, join together to present a special evening of holiday music, performed on a stage lit with hundreds of candles. Check out the BIC Center website for this free concert (although reservations are required).

In their effort to spread more holiday cheer, the NoMi Strings Collective will be doing a concert exclusively for our elementary students in the BICS Gymnasium at 9:30 am on Thursday morning. We thank these great musicians for taking the extra time to play for our students before they fly back to the mainland!

Kids can find the Big Dipper or participate in many other activities to get registered to win prizes! Please encourage kids and parents to participate through December 15th for the prizes...they can write a story or poem too!

5th & 6th Graders Participate in Wreath’s Across America to Honor our Veterans

We could not be more proud of these kids. It was cold and windy and they had to dig in the snow/ice to uncover the graves so they could thank each veteran for their service and speak each veteran’s name. They did it with respect, and honor. #IslanderPride

Little Caesar Pizza kits
Delivery of Pizza kits will be Dec 10th.  Pick up between 2pm - 3:45 at the school.  We are sorry for the change in delivery, there was an issue with the delivery truck. 

Students will be participating in a Food Drive Challenge with their classmates. All donations will be given to the food pantry here on Beaver Island.

Spirit week has been a great success so far. Looking forward to seeing all the costumes on Friday.

Good morning!

Next Friday is Halloween! The elementary staff is asking families to arrive at school by 8:10 so we can get lined up for the costume parade. We hope to start promptly at 8:15. The preK will be taking their costumes off directly after the parade, so plan to get any and all photos you'd like of students in costumes before they change.

Reminder to families: Please leave all inappropriate costume props or costumes at home. ie: sword, gun, cigarettes, gory costumes, axes. This has been a problem in the past.
