BICS is now canceled for the day Wednesday 1/22nd is officially a snow day. Due to "visibility is not improving and snow has now changed to a wet snow which could lead to icy conditions".
BICS will be on a 2 hour delay. We will start at 10:15 am.
Thank you, Beaver Island District Library, for working with our students in grades 1-6 in Science. Students were able to sow seeds this winter and are excited to watch their seeds grow up until spring.




Tuesday January 21st BICS will be closed for a weather day. It is forecasted to be colder than today therefore school will not be in session.
Please have your 7th through 12th grade students check their email and classroom sites. Many classes will have their Tues work assignment posted there.
Beaver Island vs Ojibwe Basketball Games for 1/10 and 1/11 are cancelled due to the weather.
Today, the students did their Christmas shopping at Santa's workshop. Thank you to Theresa McDonough, Ryann Turner, and all the volunteers that put this on every year.






The students and staff enjoyed going to houses yesterday to perform their annual Caroling.

The Beaver Island Community School Volley Ball team faces Brimley High School tonight in the second round of the MHSAA District Championships. The Volley Ball athletes earned their spot in the second round by beating Engadine on Monday. Good luck tonight! Go Islanders!

Lady Islanders take another win. They won all sets in both matches.

Just a reminder that the 5th and 6th grade play is this Friday at the BIC Center. Raffle will be held between 6:30 and 7:00 pm. Play starts at 7. Hope to see you there.

May the Forth be with You!
The BIC Center and bIrobot (Beaver Island Community School’s robotics team) have a “May the Fourth be with You” Star Wars watch party starting at 2:00 pm tomorrow (Saturday, May 4 th ).
All three films of the original trilogy will be shown on the BIG screen with the BIG sound in the BIC Center. Showtimes are 2:00 pm for A New Hope, 5:00 pm for Empire Strikes Back, and 8:00 for Return of the Jedi. Most importantly, there will be featured events between shows.
After A New Hope, (at around 4:30) the bIrobot team will be demonstrating this year’s
competition robot and showing off the mini robots they will be using in this summer’s BICS Robotics Camp. Between the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the lobby of the BIC Center will be transformed into the Cantina on Tatooine (with appropriate non-alcoholic mocktails). Oh, and there’s a costume contest…so pull out your costumes…and head to a planet in a galaxy far, far, away! PS. All of the shows are rated PG.
